If you believe you have the wits (and grades) to apply to Oxford University and Cambridge, you will be terrified to learn that you can only apply to one. That’s right, you’ll have to stick your neck on the line and take the boat one way or the other.
On paper, Oxford and Cambridge seem quite similar places: they have the same collegiate system, the same teaching methods, the same level of prestige, and the same, frankly, middle-aged slang: “Shall we go bop tonight? But even though they are often combined in a Glee “Oxbridge” style mash-up, they have their differences.
So how do you decide which one to go to? Oxford or Cambridge?
Course:
Forget for a moment about the sleepy towers of Oxford and the beautiful green spaces of Cambridge and feel cool and clinical as you analyze your fields of study. It really should be your first concern!
Oxford y Cambridge no tienen cursos idénticos.
City:
Oxford and Cambridge, despite their stunning architecture and crowds of tourists, are completely different cities. Oxford is livelier, livelier and often jammed. A bustling city in itself, while Cambridge is a university dominated city (especially in the center). If you are looking for something like a small town then Cambridge is the place for you.
Oxford has more shops, bars and clubs, Cambridge is nicer and greener, but it suffers from variety. In fact, its main street was considered one of the most general in the country; although if you go east of the city you will find great little pubs, unusual shops and cafes.
It is worth spending half a day wandering around the cities. Either you love the bustling vibe of Oxford, or you miss something a little more laid back in Cambridge.
