Many companies have added Afterpay to their payment methods to provide greater convenience to their customers, such as Amazon.
Through Afterpay, you will be able to purchase items for which you do not have enough money to cover. However, it might help to read a guide on how to use this great platform for ease of use.
What should I know about Afterpay?
Afterpay is a very easy-to-use application that will allow you to speed up your payments. You can get your products today and pay for them later. Although there are several options with a similar system, most people choose Afterpay because it provides security.
Most companies now accept Afterpay as a payment method. It works like most credit cards, except that it has no annual interest rate, and you won’t accumulate an account balance.
In addition, you have a time limit to cover your debts, which must be paid in installments. However, you don’t have to worry about the amounts because they are usually low and easy to cover.
You can get higher limits for your purchases as you meet your payment installments.
On the other hand, they also have an automated payments option through which you don’t have to worry about forgetting payments. You can choose any of their credit or debit cards to have the fees discounted.
How can I use Afterpay?
Before you can start paying with Afterpay, you need to create an account with your personal information, including your name, home address, phone number, and the credit or debit card number with which you will make payments.
After this, you must configure your account to be designated a limit amount, which you must keep in mind when making your purchases. If you exceed this amount, the payment will be rejected.
Now you can make your first purchase with Afterpay. Go to the page where you will find the products you want, add them to the cart, and choose Afterpay as your payment method.
However, not all stores accept Afterpay. For these, you will have to opt for other payment methods.
Afterpay on Amazon
Currently, Amazon does not have Afterpay as a payment method. We could say that this is because Amazon has a payment method that works similarly to Afterpay, called Amazon Pay.
Through Amazon Pay, users can also use a setup that gives them a payment plan to pay for their products over several months.
Another possible reason why Amazon may not accept Afterpay may be the fact that they do not want to cover the fees of that platform.
However, you may not be able to pay directly with Afterpay but indirectly. Once you set up your account on the platform and add your credit card, you will get a single-use credit card number that works like a regular card.
You’ll be able to enter the number in the Amazon payments section, and they’ll process it as if it were any credit card when Afterpay is covering it. So, yes, you could use Afterpay to pay for your Amazon purchases.
Once you have completed your order, remove this payment method and do not set it as your default payment method. Otherwise, all your purchases would be covered with Afterpay and could go over the limit and therefore get declined payments.
It could also happen that payments are processed, and you do not realize that your Afterpay Account has covered them, so you could forget to pay the fees and damage your reputation on the platform by late payments.
What is Afterpay Single Use Payment?
This is an Afterpay tool that you can get only through their app, allowing you to pay at different online marketplaces. To do so, you must log in to the application and choose the place where you want to purchase.
Once your payment is processed, you will have to pay an initial amount, and six months after the purchase, you will have to pay the debt in full. There will be no additional interest charges as long as the account is paid off at this time.
How can I use Afterpay Single Use Payment?
To use it, you must be registered in the Afterpay application. Then, go to the “Buy in the Afterpay app” section. You can also find out which merchants accept this tool by looking at the “In-app only” option in their profile.
After you choose your option, select your order, add it to the cart and proceed to choose the “Pay now, pay later” option at the bottom of the app. Now, follow the instructions.
Can I request returns or refunds for AfterPay Single Use Payment purchases?
Generally, yes; however, not all items are eligible for this option, so you should check before requesting your return or refund.
Once you are sure you qualify for this, you can contact the merchant and request a refund or return so they can provide you with a receipt or proof of refund.
After this, you can enter the “Orders” section of the application, where you will choose the item you wish to return.
Proceed to select “…” and “return an order.” Then choose the “Return by mail” option, and you are done. You will only have to follow the instructions indicated to you.
On the other hand, remember that you must have the receipt that Afterpay customer service gave you on hand, as the company will most likely ask for it to approve your refund.
