Having a Chime debit card is an excellent solution to conventional cards. Its benefits are notorious, but one of the most striking is that it does not require a minimum amount.
Acquiring one of these cards is not a complex procedure; you have to ensure you meet the basic requirements and fill out each field of the application correctly. Loading money to the debit card is also simple.
How can I load money to the Chime card?
To load money to your Chime card, you will find over 99,000 retail locations that are Chime partners. Some of the most common ones that cardholders go to are 7 – Eleven, CVS, Walmart, and Walgreens.
Another effective strategy for reloading your card is through direct deposit from your employer. You must send them your Chime routing number and account number to complete the transaction.
You can access your Chime digital account and go to the “settings” and “account information” options to find both numbers. You will find all the information related to your card; you can enter it whenever you want or write it down in your address book.
If direct deposit is not an option, you can choose to go to one of the partner retailers and ask the cashier to deposit to your spending account. Please note that you can only make three deposits every 24 hours. In addition, the deposit cannot be more than $500 daily and $10,000 monthly.
Add funds from a bank account
You can also top yourself up from one of the partner banks. You must have an account with one of the following:
- Bank of America
- Capital One
- Charles Schwab
- Pursue
- Citibank
- Fidelity
- Federal navy
- PNC Bank
- SunTrust
- TD bank
- United StatesA
- U.S. Bank
- Wells Fargo
To make the deposit, you must first log in to your Chime account and look for the “Add Money” option in the top-right corner of the page. You must add the amount you want and follow the instructions to log in with your bank account.
You will be linking your bank account with the Chime account; that way, you can notify the bank of the transfer from the same place. Once you do this procedure, you must wait two days for your money to be displayed in your account, and you can start using it.
Which are the partners for Chime deposits?
Earlier, we mentioned only some of the ones you can find. The list is a little more extensive, among which you can find:
- CVS
- Family dollar
- General dollar
- Racetrack
- Walmart
- Walgreens
- 7 Eleven
- Duane reader
- Ritual of help
- Vacation resort stores

What are the transaction fees?
The debit card reload process is pretty much the same at all retailers; what usually changes is the transaction fee and how long it will take to become effective. Each retailer has its fee, which you should ask about once you are there.
For example, Walmart has a transaction fee of $3.74 per card. If you use this retailer for your reload, you will be able to use the money within two hours of making the deposit.
If you prefer to know the transaction fees beforehand to choose which retailer to go to, you can access the Chime app and go to “Move Money,” click on “Deposit Cash,” and “View Locations Near Me.”
In the next tab, you will see all the retailers near you; you can see their transaction fees by clicking on “information” right next to each retailer’s name. They typically do not charge more than $5 for each transaction, but this also depends on the amount to deposit.
