Wawa is a supermarket chain with fuel service stations open 24 hours a day. If you are among those who often realize at the last minute that they have no food in the fridge, you have surely visited Wawa.
Before visiting Wawa, you probably would like to know if they have a fast and secure payment method like Apple Pay, and we are here to clarify that concern.
Does Wawa accept Apple Pay?
Wawa has added Apple Pay to its payment methods to improve customer convenience and satisfaction. In addition, it seeks to provide security by locking user transactions with a unique device account number that comes with the application.
This account number differs from the card number, so your card information is kept safe and secure when using Apple Pay.
This app is much more suitable than using your physical cards, as you no longer need to carry your cards with you. Plus, you don’t have to worry about losing your cards and spending a whole day reporting them.
Does Wawa take Apple Pay for gas?
Most of the currently famous gas station chains accept Apple Pay as a payment method; Wawa is no exception. If you’re running late for work and it’s time to refuel your car, you can use contactless payment through Apple Pay to speed up the process. All you need is to link your card to the app beforehand.
How can I use Apple Pay on Wawa?
If this is your first time using Apple Pay, you must add your credit or debit card to your Wallet.
To complete this, log into the Wallet app on your iPhone. Once inside, press the “+” button and either take a picture of your card or enter the data manually.
The first card you add will be your default payment method, but you can change this at any time when making your purchases
Alternatively, if you want to pay for your purchases through an iWatch, you must link it to your Wallet. To complete this, open Watch from your iPhone, go to Wallet, and then to Apple Pay.
Once in Apple Pay, choose the card you want to use; you can use contactless payment through your iWatch. Take out your Apple device if you are already in one of Wawa’s stores or service stations, ready to pay for your groceries or gas.
Whether you use an iPhone or iWatch, you must log in to your Wallet. You can take a shortcut by quickly double-tapping the button on the right side of your phone or watch.
If that doesn’t work, you can log in to your Wallet the traditional way. Once in your Wallet, select the card with which you will pay for your purchase.
Then, use the verification method with which you unlock your phone, either passcode, Touch ID, or Face ID. When verifying your identity, position your device near the payment reader.
After a few seconds, you will hear a sound, and you will be able to see on the payment reader that your transaction was approved. Done! You have now completed your Wawa purchase using Apple Pay.
What other payment methods does Wawa accept?
In addition to Apple Pay, Wawa accepts payments through credit or debit cards, gift cards, and cash. If instead of an Apple device you have an Android, you can also pay for your purchase via Google Pay.
