Restaurant chains keep up with tech evolution thanks to delivery applications that help manage food orders in less time. Consumers can review the menu and pay all in the comfort of their homes. Chipotle has not stayed behind and now uses Apple Pay Cash for the convenience of its customers.
Chipotle is a fast-food restaurant that caters to Mexican food fans. From their beginnings, they have had an interactive way of serving their food in the form of a buffet display, where the consumer can see their purchase as it is prepared.
The New Arrival: Chipotle’s App
Due to the massive time consumption that society is exposed to, the market must align with digital marketing strategies to reach more potential customers who may not be aware of the brand. In 2017, Chipotle developed its food app, refined over time for the user’s benefit.
Among the features offered by the App is pick-up at a nearby store or delivery to the chosen location. The payment methods vary both in the physical stores and the application. That’s where the question arises: Is Apple Pay among the payment methods? The answer is an absolute yes!
Chipotle’s Apple Pay Cash and Point of Sales Systems
In the words of Chipotle’s chief digital and information officer, Curt Garner, “Our guests are increasingly mobile and on the go, and they want and deserve the same intuitive, accurate and convenient ordering experience they get in our restaurants. That is precisely what our App delivers,”
Therefore, the company takes the App’s performance and constant improvement seriously. The point of sale, or POS, is the hardware (for the company) and software (for the customer) that makes it possible to accept and account for different payment methods, link them to the company, and ensure that the customer, as well as the company, can check in and check out.
Among the existing payment methods in Chipotle, there is Apple Pay Cash both in its physical stores and in its application; there are small differences in how to perform either transaction.
Apple Pay Cash in the Store
To use Apple Pay Cash in the physical store, you approach the cashier, who will load the bill with the amount to be paid. The POS will display the amount of money to be paid on the reader screen.
The customer’s job is to open the Wallet on the device and place the phone on top of the POS reader. The application will automatically receive the amount to be deducted, and using the ID fingerprint will grant access to withdraw the money. Once the fingerprint is approved, the transaction is complete.
In the Chipotle App
To pay directly in the App is no more difficult than in physical stores; when confirming the order, the payment methods will appear on the screen, among which you will see the Apple Pay Cash logo, which is the Apple icon.
When you click on the icon, the receipt and the fingerprint symbol will appear at the bottom of the screen; when you use the fingerprint ID, the application will have received the payment.
It is important to know that, in case of a payment through the application, as the receipt appears, it will also appear on the screen if the user wants to withdraw the money from the Wallet or directly from one of the linked cards.
Other payments methods
The application and the physical stores also contain other payment methods to improve customer convenience and satisfaction. Some of them are Cash, debit cards, prepaid cards, gift cards, or credit cards.
