DoorDash has launched a program to reward its most loyal delivery drivers, known as Dashers. The program is designed to recognize Dashers who have spent significant time on the delivery platform and have delivered over 10,000 orders. Dashers who meet these criteria of loyalty and experience will receive a one-time gift of $10,000 as DoorDash’s way of thanking them for their dedication and hard work.
The international delivery company believes it is essential to recognize and reward Dashers who have made significant contributions to the company’s success. The financial reward is a testament to DoorDash’s commitment to providing the best possible experience for its Dashers. It is also a way to express gratitude for the supplemental income opportunities they have provided.
Latest app updates for Dashers
The platform created by Tony Xu, Stanley Tang, Andy Fang, and Evan Moore recently introduced a new earning mode for its Dashers called “Earn by Time.” This groundbreaking feature comes with a minimum hourly rate and 100% tips from the moment a Dasher accepts an offer until the completion of the delivery, which ensures that Dashers are fairly rewarded for the time they put into their deliveries, providing them with more predictable earnings.
For those Dashers who prefer variety in their roles and value flexibility, DoorDash still offers the “Earn Per Offer” model. This mode provides various task types with a guaranteed minimum payment upfront, and Dashers keep all of their tips. This freedom of choice allows Dashers to tailor their experience to their unique preferences, diversifying their earnings while maintaining transparency.
The company founded in 2013 has also introduced “post-checkout tipping” to enhance the Dasher experience. Customers can now add or increase tips for their Dasher directly in the delivery mobile app, even up to 30 days after the completion of the delivery, which serves the Dasher and promotes a customer-centric approach, enhancing the DoorDash experience.
To increase the earning potential of the Dashers and reduce their downtime, DoorDash also introduced Dash Along the Way. This feature lets Dashers receive offers based on their chosen Dash starting point, ensuring their valuable time is used efficiently.
The delivery app has always prioritized the safety of its Dashers, and it has addressed this by introducing “SafeDash Location Sharing.” The food delivery platform drivers can now share their real-time location with up to five trusted contacts, helping keep both Dashers safe while traveling.

SafeDash
DoorDash is taking significant steps to prioritize the safety of its dedicated delivery drivers, known as Dashers, with the launch of an innovative in-app toolkit called SafeDash. The toolkit is designed to provide Dashers with enhanced safety measures during their deliveries and was developed in partnership with security experts at ADT.
SafeDash includes two essential functions. The first is a “Safety Reassurance Call,” which enables drivers to connect directly with an ADT agent, who stays on the line until the Dasher feels safe and out of harm’s way, providing a reassuring presence during their deliveries.
SafeDash’s second critical component is the Emergency Assistance Button. With this feature, Dashers can request immediate assistance from ADT if they encounter a situation of concern or an emergency while on the job. ADT can also contact 911 on the Dasher’s behalf, ensuring quick assistance in times of need.
The food delivery platform is committed to quickly making this toolkit a reality, not just a concept. DoorDash has announced plans to roll out SafeDash to Dashers across the United States by the end of the year. This proactive approach underscores DoorDash’s commitment to ensuring the well-being and safety of its employees.

The food delivery service’s commitment to safety extends beyond the launch of SafeDash. The company has previously implemented initiatives such as workers’ compensation insurance. This provides additional support for Dashers.
In addition, to ensure that any concerns are addressed promptly, DoorDash maintains a 24/7 Trust & Safety team. Their cooperation with law enforcement agencies further proves their commitment to a safe and reliable environment for Dashers and customers.
