Delta Delta Delta was formed in the year 1888 at Boston University and is also called Tr Delta. It is a women’s fraternity. It is a part of the National Panhellenic Conference. It is a group of women with shared values. Tri Delta allows these women to be themselves and belong to something bigger.
The women at Delta Delta Delta organization are passionate about serving others. They are committed to becoming the best version of themselves, and dedicated to helping women learn, live and lead with purpose.
The premier women’s organization provides a transformational program and leadership development program for its collegiate and alumnae members.
The Greek letters of Delta Delta Delta signify special meanings to all its members. Delta Delta Delta’s patron Greek divinity is Poseidon, the sea-god and one of the three rulers of the universe. Pearl is the official jewel of Tri Delta and symbolizes Delta Delta Delta’s new members. The pine tree is the official tree and represents growth and lofty aspirations.
Dolphins hold a particular significance for fraternity leaders. The Pansy is Delta Delta Delta’s official flower and a symbol of alumnae membership. The colors of Tri Delta are blue, gold, and silver. Another significant color is green as it represents the union of three colors. The official fraternity badge of Delta Delta Delta is the Stars and Crescent badge.
What are the requirements to join Delta Delta Delta
The requirements to become a new member are:
- Any undergraduate and postgraduate student who is enrolled in an accredited college or university where a collegiate chapter of Delta Delta Delta has been established.
- A female student who has never been an initiated member of any other National Panhellenic Conference group is eligible for membership.
How can you join Delta Delta Delta
Tri Delta’s host institutions determine the recruitment process. The women are encouraged to participate in the recruitment process by completing the referral form.
A potential member can be introduced to a Tri Delta chapter through referrals and references. The valuable information gained through referrals and references helps the chapter initiate quality conversations with potential new members and learn more about them during the recruitment process.
The chapter can contact the person submitting the reference or referral to provide more information about the potential new member, but the alumnae are not allowed to contact the branch to know about the recruitment status of the potential new members.
Selecting candidates for collegiate membership is solely the responsibility of each collegiate chapter. Moreover, the membership selection process is very confidential.
Through the membership selection process, Tri Delta gets to know potential new members they think are a good fit for the organization in a better way and allows potential new members to learn more about Tri Delta and decide if it is the organization for them.
Membership in Delta Delta Delta is mutual. A letter of recommendation, a reference form or the legacy status of a potential new member is not the guarantee for an invitation to membership. The information regarding the chapter members decision to keep or release the potential new member in the process might not be disclosed.
The potential new members having legacy status do not get preferential treatment during the recruitment process by Delta Delta Delta.
