Delta Sigma Theta (DST) is a non-profit sorority organization founded in 1913 by 22 empowering collegiate students who were determined to build a solid framework of sisterhood who support each other.
To this day, founders of the sorority are greatly respected as they stood for social injustice as their first plan of action in helping the public, and this practice remains. Being a sister of DST isn’t just merely about sisterhood, but about being at the forefront of change and action against injustice of any form.
The sorority’s roots were established at Howard University in the United States and has remained there until today. In fact, the organization has grown to more than 1,058 chapters with more than 350,000 members and has awarded over $5,600,000 in grants.
