The National Honor Society of Leadership and Success is Sigma Alpha Pi, and in order to become a member, you can complete the nomination process. The nomination process can be completed entirely online and requires potential new members to submit the recommendation of at least one faculty member.
The information required to fill in the nomination form is personal information like name, email id, the chapter you want to join, member type, year of graduation, and GPA. It also requires you to submit a personal statement of 200 words or less regarding why you want to join and what makes you stand apart from other candidates.
You also need to submit three requests for nomination and submit your application for nomination.
In order to become a member, you would require the approval of the Chapter Advisor. Although only one faculty nomination is needed, it is recommended that you request a nomination from three faculties as the faculty can take time to reply.
Moreover, requesting nomination from more than one faculty is advised to assure that at least one faculty receives the nomination if it gets trapped in the junk folder of the other faculty.
In short, to apply for Sigma Alpha Pi membership, you need to submit your nomination request to at least three faculty members that you are sure will nominate you for the membership of Sigma Alpha Pi.
You should personalize each letter in order to make it clear that the request is coming from you.
All three faculty members will receive an email from your side asking them to nominate you and submit their opinions on your leadership potential. Once the NSLS gets a nomination for your membership, they forward your application and nomination to the Chapter Advisor on your campus.
The Chapter Advisor determines whether you will be selected to join the chapter this semester or not. If your Chapter Advisor approves your application, you will receive an email notification and the notification code through which you can join.
