There’s nothing better than ordering your favorite food directly from home. Chick-fil-A is a fast-food restaurant chain in the United States that has grown to be the second-largest chicken restaurant chain in the country today. If there isn’t a Chick-fil-A store near your neighborhood, delivery is a wonderful option.
Chick-fil-A’s popularity is growing considerably. What better partnership than a delivery business? The union with Grubhub is becoming a profitable financial decision for both parties since both generate more customer flow.
Grubhub was the best choice for Chick-Fil-A
Grubhub, a food delivery ordering system that facilitates the ordering process, is currently one of the fastest-moving customer flow applications in the United States.
Chick-fil-A was previously associated with another delivery ordering system. However, they have recently opened with the Grubhub family. According to customers, the previous system was not as simple and effective; with the alliance with Grubhub, Chick-Fil-A aims to streamline online and mobile ordering, thus earning customer loyalty based on improving their purchase experience.
Tucker Peterson, the satellite concept consultant for Chick-Fil-A restaurant, commented, “We needed to clean up the ordering and fulfillment process and have Grubhub orders integrate with our existing POS system”.
In addition, their effectiveness needed to improve due to the customer target they are mostly aiming for. Chick-fil-A is known on most U.S. college campuses, a market of young and somewhat impatient students. A delivery app gives this type of customer the perception of saving time.
Benefits offered by Grubhub to Chick-Fil-A
Using Grubhub for restaurants provides various quick and easy options that consumers will appreciate, helping to position new customers and gain loyalty with regular customers.
Customer growth
Grubhub is sure to increase the percentage of orders through its system due to the high flow of people checking out the options associated with the delivery system, so it may reach customers who are not aware of or may not have tried the restaurant yet.
The monthly revenue growth for Grubhub’s partner restaurants is around 30% with the take-out option alone and increasing the number of customers who start ordering food for delivery by 20%.
Increased coverage
By existing in two different applications, greater coverage and a potential new audience are achieved. Customers who have the Chick-fil-A App already know the brand, but those who have downloaded the Grubhub service app do not necessarily know Chick-fil-A. It translates into an additional platform to showcase the restaurant. This system is useful for getting to know new restaurants in town.
Advertising
By being registered on Grubhub, the restaurant can pay a fee to position its restaurant on the application. Grubhub can send emails to all the people who have downloaded its application, sending promotions or coupons of the restaurants that can be used in its app.
This strategy is a way to advertise and create traffic in the app; people who have downloaded Grubhub can be informed of promotions that fit their budget. Being part of this type of advertising helps the partner restaurant gain more customers.
Easier, more orders
Let’s remember that the main target of Chick-fil-A is college students, that is, the Z generation. This generation is characterized by being followers of efficiency, convenience, and speed; any process that generates an unnecessary investment of time will be automatically discarded from their options.
Among so many options in the market, students will choose the one that requires the least effort and the fastest, considering the busy life of a college student. Having delivery service in your restaurant makes it appealing to the young target.
More staff, more orders
Chick-fil-A still keeps its delivery system despite also having Grubhub’s services; in fact, one of the restaurant’s incentives to partner with Grubhub was the greater number of staff they could have.
Peterson commented that “When you start getting 150+ mobile orders per hour, in addition to another 150+ through your traditional POS system, things get tricky,” with the number of orders requiring a much larger staff that they didn’t have, “You end up having to add to your staffing requirements – which was probably already optimized to begin with – and you’re also adding a separate system communicating orders that requires additional processes.”
Grubhub’s staff works directly for the delivery company, not the restaurant, which helps Chick-fil-A concentrate its staff in other areas and generate more orders in less time.
