The Giftly gift card is easy to use. However, any new user may encounter problems while redeeming or learning how to get the money. These procedures are relatively simple, so there is nothing to worry about.
It is important to remember that the card can be used in several ways; it can even be given as a gift in different stores, not necessarily from the same company.
How do I activate my Giftly gift card?
The moment you get a Giftly gift card, it is natural to feel like spending the whole balance. But it is important to understand how necessary it is to activate it before you can use it.
For the safety of the company and your own, these cards cannot be used until you have activated them through the Giftly website. Have the card at hand so you can transcribe the data requested by the website.
Once inside, you will be asked for the 16-digit number on the back of the card, and you will also be asked for the CVV/CVN. The CVV/CVN is always located on the back of the card.
Immediately after, there is a captcha to check if you are human, where you need to click on “I am not a robot” and wait for the system confirmation. Performing this verification may be troublesome if you do not have a stable internet connection.
To finish the activation process, click “Activate Card,” and the whole system will start processing. It will not be immediate; usually, you need to wait a few minutes before redeeming the card.
How can I redeem the Giftly gift card?
One outstanding feature of these gift cards is their origin, which sets them apart from many others. Not only are they endorsed by Giftly, but also by VISA. Therefore, you can use it anywhere VISA cards are accepted.
As a financial institution, VISA is well-known and accepted by establishments in general. However, as a gift card, it has certain limitations.
The problem with using this card is the spending limit, as it will always be limited to the total amount of the card. Therefore, you cannot complete any purchase above the card amount.
There is another serious problem: if you make an online purchase with a Giftly gift card and it falls short of the total price of the item, you cannot use a different gift card to complete the purchase. In other words, Giftly cards cannot be combined with other cards as a payment method.
It is also necessary to consider these cards because, although they can be redeemed in many places throughout the United States, they must comply with laws. For this reason, Giftly gift cards cannot be redeemed for cash or used at ATMs.
Will the card expire if I don’t redeem it?
Giftly gift cards have an expiration date printed on the front. If you don’t redeem the card before the expiration date, you will lose the money and the opportunity to use it.
But now, although the card is not associated with any usage fee, if you do not use it for twelve months, you will be charged a maintenance fee on the first day of the thirteenth month, which will be charged monthly to the card for $4.95.
I already redeemed the gift card; how do I check the balance?
The process is quite simple if you want to check your remaining card balance once you decide to redeem it. Go to the Giftly page, where you can check it in a few simple steps.
Once you access the web platform, you must insert the 16 digits found on the front of the card and the CVV/CVN on the back. Place them carefully in their respective boxes.
At the bottom of the page, press a button that says “Consult balance” and wait a few seconds while the platform searches its database for your balance.
